It's January - Let's Give Away Some Yarn
Time to Yarn Storm some deserving knitters and crocheters. Back in August of 2009 we gathered pounds and pounds of extra yarn from our stashes and put them in a big pile to give away. Some went to knitters locally and some went to Yarn Storm Central, or Nancy Pope, as she prefers to be called. Nancy collects yarn from all over the country, sorts it, repackages it, and mails it to nominated knitters who could use some yarn love.
We did so well with our Sheep Giveaway, and with New Year's resolutions floating around and all, we thought it might be a good time to de-stash a little yarn for others.
So beginning.... NOW, and going through the end of the month, you may bring to the Little Red Barn any extra yarn that someone else might love and get some good use out of. With the economy the way it is, lots of sweet yarn crafters are having to go without their favorite leisure activity, nay, passion, because of a lack of funds. That's criminal. Let's fill in the blanks where we have an overabundance.
If you know of anyone who could use some yarn love from the generous LRBarnies, please send me a nomination e-mail and we'll fix 'em right up (ctelisak at juno dot com).
If you can come on the Third or Fourth Saturdays, we'll have a collection box here at the LRB and at the end of January, we'll send it out to its recipients, with love and blessings.
