Rural Exposure

We hosted a wonderful group of preschoolers and their moms today.  It's hard to know with kids this young exactly what the long term impact will be, but I hope they got at least a taste of rural life -- how to interact with animals, how to observe, how to appreciate the ways these animals provide valuable products, services, and companionship for us.

It seems like many times, the rocks in the driveway are the most interesting things on their little radars, but I'm just hoping more of the natural world around them is sinking in, too.

Thanks, moms, for exposing your kids to the small scale farming world - the world that feeds and clothes you now and in the future.

  1. I love that little girl with a camera already. Proof that we can't help but photograph the critters - it starts early! Too cute.
